I HAVE A DREAM (2009)
Wednesday, January 21st, 2009I have a dream. A dream of a world with a money-system run by the people, not a people run by the money-system.
Where politicians are judged not on the quality of their oration but on the content of their policy platforms and on the legitmacy of their party.
A place where politics is not a spectacle of manufactured consent but representive of the reality that people find themselves in.
Where the monopoly of the so called “two-party” system has been abandoned for true choice in the democratic process.
A place where people’s representives live up to their title and actually represent the people.
Where change is recognized as the only constant. Where revolution is the status quo.
A place where we, the people, grant authority only temporarily, and as is fit for true liberty.
Where the justice system is just.
Where the legal authority of justice is upheld by the moral authority of liberty and the intollerance of evil deeds.
Where people are nurtured rather than exploited, educated rather than propagandized, empowered to be prosperous rather than indentured to be servile.
Where each of us recognizes the changes necessary in our own lives and take action in our own communities.
Where world leaders exist in every classroom, in every office, and every home.
Where those who would take away liberty have been banished.
Where all men and women are free from the mental bondage placed on us by our peers, our governments, our media, and our religions.
Free of tricks, guilt, emotional manipulation or blind allegiances.
Free of storylines which attempt to justify the most heinous of crimes.
I have a dream of a time when the Power is in the People and the People are in the Know.
When the gullible and foolish swallow their last lie.
When the Sheppards of falsity lose their flocks.
When individuals look in the mirror and finally see themselves as beautiful and capable.
When the eyes of humanity open to the eloquent wonder of existence and find gratification in the joys of living, of discovery, of learning, of compassion and most of all gratitude for this tiny moment we have on this world.
A place where we, the people, recognize the power we hold.
A time when we, the people, become the solution we seek.
We are free, at last… Free, at last…
When we free ourselves.
